I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Klick (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2016
Interview
I was contacted through email after applying online. We set up an initial phone call later that day. Pretty standard chat about work experience, etc. I was set up for a techincal exam.
I came in the next week to the office for a web development test. The office environment was really nice. My examiner walked me around for a quick tour and I was really impressed. Regarding the test, it was a pretty standard test on HTML, CSS and Javascript. Nothing that difficult or surprising. It was 3 hours long and I finished with about 15 minutes to spare, although they said its also OK to go over the time limit. I felt good about my performance, and was told by my examiner that I did well on the test.
After the test and the tour, I was told that I should expect a phone call within 4 business days. I didnt hear anything for 5 days, so I emailed asking if there were any updates regarding my test. I was told again that I did very well on the techincal exam and someone will be in touch soon. 2 days later, I got an email saying they were going forward with another candidate.
I was pretty disappointed with the lack of communication, and the fact that I never actually got to interview in person face to face with anyone there. I feel like if I got to actually meet a manager or the team, maybe they wouldn't have just brushed me off. I only met the examiner who seemed really positive, so I was a bit shocked to hear that they weren't even bringing me in for an in person interview.
