Had a phone screen with their recruiter, which was positive. Professional, pleasant. Then I interviewed with the hiring manager (the Director of Compensation). She was lacking in professionalism and made it apparent throughout the interview that she would prefer to hire an internal candidate into the role I was interviewing for. Someone she mentioned was recently a trainee and overall very new to compensation. Wild and unnecessary statement in the middle of my interview. Why waste my time interviewing me if you want to go with someone who’s underqualified anyway? Why tell me that in the middle of my interview? Needless to say, I withdrew my application.
