I interviewed in November 2025 and the interview process took about six weeks. First, there was a call with the recruiter, which was a standard informational screening phone call, mostly describing the position and experience. This went well, but it took about three weeks to hear back (presumably due to application volume). The hiring manger was great and communication was excellent aside from that gap between the first and second interview, with a prompt follow-up email or phone call in every other stage. I heard back within 24hrs after each round besides the first.
The second round interview was another behavioral and experience review, this time a video call with the tech lead on the team that was hiring. This was positive and didn't feel high pressure, just going over experience and the position with plenty of side-tracking about technical approaches (in a good way).
The third round interview was a two-part panel video call. The first panel was a technical panel with a short code review exercise and a system design interview (designing a feature given vague criteria). Both were tight on time and I was reassured that they were designed as such. I appreciated that they focused on conceptual competence for this round, as it was in python and it's been a bit since I've worked in python so I was rusty on syntax and ended up writing mostly pseudo-code.
The fourth and final round was in-person in their office. There was an office tour and I had chances to ask different teams questions and see their lab. The technical portion was longer, but still tight on time by design, this time in TypeScript. Again, it was presented as a code review, but with closer to an hour of pair programming on my own device to refactor a half-implemented class into production-ready code. I felt this was a good exercise and effectively showed my skills.
Most of the interviews felt like we were already on the team and chatting during a pair programming session more than an interview which was very positive. The interviewers also thoroughly reviewed my resume and asked excellent questions in a way that made it very easy to showcase my expertise. I received an offer promptly with a kind note from the tech lead and was asked to respond within ~3 days, I accepted.
