I applied in-person. I interviewed at MRC Global (Houston, TX) in Jan 2014
Interview
General interview and drug test, they try to act like it is a better place to work than it really is.. It feels like they are trying to sell a Honda as a BMW. I'm not buying.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MRC Global (East Brunswick, NJ) in Sep 2014
Interview
One on one interview at a restaurant for lunch. Very casual conversation. Manager really tried to sell company and ended up being insincere. I was asked about my family repeatedly and looking back this seems like it was an effort to gauge my ability to work long hours without reorecussions from family. Team environment was also stressed. I was asked very few clear cut questions rather, we spoke about hypothetical situations and focussed on my background and experience.
It was very well organized. A typical interview. Nothing out of the ordinary. It is what you would expect. They take care of you, get you a drink. And basically then start the interview. Dress professionally, and talk smart. They value good work ethic, and responsibility.
