    Interview

About a day after I turned in my application I received a call to schedule an interview. The manager at the time asked a few standard questions and gave me standard information about the position. There was a basic math test (that was roughly 20 questions). I was asked to start within the next few days.

    Cashier/Sales Associate/Assistant Manager Interview

    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Mardel Christian Bookstore (Colorado Springs, CO) in August 2016.

    Interview

I was welcomed by the Manager, and we went back to his office for the interview. We talked for quite a long time, he asked appropriate questions, and I answered completely and honestly. I had submitted a resume, and it included a lot of detail that is not usually asked for on a standard job application. I was very comfortable, and the Manager was very friendly. I thought it went extremely well, and I believed that I would be offered a position. I never heard anything further, even though I sent a follow up note. It would have been nice to have had some response, whether affirmative or not.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Mardel Christian Bookstore in February 2012.

    Interview

I went in and the manager met me with a smile. I was led into her office and we spoke about general items concerning the work there. Basically covered all of the essentials. At the end of the interview she handed me a pretty extensive math test which covered sales, percentages, and other basic math questions which I felt had been slight disingenuious since the numbers, no matter how good I worked them, seemed to work out right. Just know that you need to remember you math classes and you will possibly get a job. There were five or six other interviews lined up for the day and she told me so. She told me that I would get a call back for a second interview if I passed the first.

    • Can you solve all of these math problems without a calculator and only scratch paper?   Answer Question
