Mezzetta interview questions

The hiring process was a bit unusual and left me with a mixed impression. It started when the recruiter, who was also the Head of HR, reached out to me on LinkedIn. The phone interview with the recruiter was fairly standard, but what stood out was how much emphasis they placed on a behavioral assessment they asked me to complete. The recruiter mentioned that the leader I would interview with later would be very interested in my results and would have follow-up questions based on them. However, no one ever discussed the results with me, which I found odd. I then interviewed with the Head of Analytics and Insights, who told me that the interview was “my time” to ask questions, and he would only ask a few himself. This felt a bit unconventional but it went smoothly. The next interview was with a potential peer who worked on a different account/region. The conversation was going well until they asked for personal details about my family, which seemed inappropriate for an interview. The most confusing part of the process was the interview with the company leader. They didn’t reference the behavioral assessment at all, despite the recruiter’s emphasis. Instead, the leader seemed overly concerned about my ability to succeed in a remote role. This was puzzling since I’ve had experience working fully remotely during the pandemic and currently work in a hybrid setup. They also placed a disproportionate focus on a particular tool required for the role, one I had less experience with compared to others, but I was more than willing to learn. A strange moment that added to the overall oddity of the process happened before this interview. I had an informal phone conversation with the recruiter, and during the call, her phone kept breaking up. She also mentioned that she was out at the park walking her dogs, which didn’t seem very professional for a work-related conversation. After the final interview, I never heard back. The recruiter ghosted me entirely, and I never received any update about whether I was still being considered or if they moved on with other candidates.

Started with phone interview with recruiter, followed by video interview with manager. Next, panel interviews with key people (5 total). Topics- core ingredients, job experience, work approach. Took about 3 months in total.
