I was informed well in advance that the interview would be a long process so appreciate the heads up. After a couple of phone calls I was given a case to solve and create a presentation. The case took a lot of time and effort to complete and once I submitted it, i received a reply in a few days that i would move on to the next round. I then had another round with the hiring manager who told me that they liked my presentation and were looking forward to asking more questions to deep-dive. Couple of days later, the recruiter contacted me and said that they were looking for someone with more product experience and that my lack of experience here showed in the case. This was disappointing as you just wasted my time, you could have probably done the hiring manager interview before giving me a time consuming case. Have some more empathy for the candidates, i know you are careful about who you hire but do not take yourself too seriously, you are not saving the world, and there are companies that take good care of its candidates. I work for one and I am moving to another one soon.
