I was excited to be promoted to the second round on the spot, and my next interview was scheduled promptly for the following Wednesday. However, at 12:00 a.m. on the day of the scheduled interview, I received an unexpected cancellation email. It stated that the interview was cancelled, not due to my qualifications, but because of my visa situation. This was disappointing, especially since I had clearly explained my visa status during the first-round conversation.
