I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Motel 6 (Montgomery, AL)
Interview
Filled out the application on the spot and there was an interview right after since the manager was in,his name is Mike. . He only asked me about my last job which was a decent amount of time in customer service. He really only had about three questions. I came recommended from someone who was already employed there. There wetter no other tests involved. He asked my availability, I told him, I signed the tax forms and began that same day about 5 hours later after The interview, where I was "trained". Literally only for four hours, with no training manual. Then I trained four more hours the next day under someone else, then left alone for the last four hours. I had plenty of questions, and half the time the phone wasn't answered by the manager or the other number for a long time worker there, so there was quite a few issues at first. It got better over time, but still with the manager and his issues and him blaming everyone, it was just a mess. I would not tell anyone to work here unless they enjoy a lot of mess and to get blamed for things that management should deal with. Then, he wanted you to call and fax everything for him because he didn't want to do it, but still only wanted to pay 7.50 an HR.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Motel 6 (Columbus, GA) in Jul 2025
Interview
I didn't exactly get an interview, I filled out an application and the next morning I received a call. I told her my schedule and she asked me to come in at 5 to do some training. I went in for 2 hrs to train with another employee, the next morning I received another call from her asking how the "meeting" went. I told her everything went great, she mentioned my schedule and how she'd have to rearrange the schedule for me because there's people there that already have a fixed schedule. Just to be clear, I never expect for anyone to rearrange any schedules for me, if my schedule doesn't work then please let me know. She mentioned she needed to speak with her husband about the scheduling and such and that she would call me back and we could talk about more training. That was yesterday, July 16, 2025, I was supposed to go back in yesterday, but she never called me back. If my schedule didn't work for her then she should have told me so rather than acting like a child and ghosting me. Anyways, I wouldn't want to work for them if they have communication issues. Just be upfront and honest with people.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked about experience and hours willing to work.
I submitted my resume on Indeed.com The interview had almost zero questions, I kind of led the conversation. She briefly described the position and pay.
Then originally they didn't want to give me the job because I was overqualified. The owner was scared that I wouldn't stay with the company for years. I convinced them to hire me anyway, but after seeing the other quality employees that worked there, I understood why. They want horrible workers, so they'll accept horrible conditions and pay.
