I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at NatWest Group (London, England) in Feb 2009
Interview
The assessment centre took place in one RBS office within London. It was actually a 4-step interviewing process. The first step was a one on one interview which was basically a competency-based interview on your past achievements and your motivations for joining RBS.
The second step was a presentation that I had to put together after reading a set of documents about the current economic crisis in Asia - it was then supposed to end with a small interview but it didn't...
The third step was a regular numerical test for which we could use a calculator.
It then ended with a group work - I was with 5 other applicants and each of us had to promote a sports event. The whole group had to decide eventually to pick up 2 projects out of the six as the most outstanding ones. We were wached over by HR people and business people.

Interview
Super day, came in and had three interviews with various people from sales and trading. All personality nothing very technical or stressful about the day. I did my homework about current events before my interview and it definitely helped the process go smoothly.
