I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Niantic in Jan 2024
Interview
Long interview process for the role. Technical screening interview, then 4 total interviews: 3 technical interviews, 1 behavioral. A bit disorganized but overall good. Technical included general C#/Unity knowledge, problem solving, and algorithms.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic in Jan 2022
Interview
Initial info session with recruiter, followed by phone screen and 4 onsite interviews. Process was very fast from initial conversation until offer. Offer was low pressure which I really appreciated (non-exploding).
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic (London, England) in Sep 2021
Interview
The process was very smooth across several stages. It gave me an opportunity to meet many of the team I would be working with across multiple levels of seniority. Both the technical interviewers and the HR team were fabulous to interview with, they were helpful and interesting and worked hard to find a role in their company that really suited me. I accepted as they were by far the best interview process I have been involved in.

Technical interview questions were multiple coding challenges and system design questions.
