      Engineer Interview

      Jan 31, 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Cape Town
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nintex (Cape Town) in Nov 2023

      Interview

The interview process begins with the recruiter reaching out to you, followed by a technical test and 2 rounds of interviews. The technical test is fair (mostly C# based, and a few common sense questions), followed by a technical interview which touches on SOLID software design principles and some C# / React fundamentals.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Some of the questions I recall: 1. What is an interface, and what are the advantages in making use of interfaces? 2. Briefly describe inheritance and what the advantages are. 3. How do you reload a web page without reloading the web page (JavaScript)? 4. In react, how do you pass information down to components without drilling them down?

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nintex (Micro del Este) in Nov 2024

      Interview

The interview process was well-structured and organized, consisting of three main stages. It began with an initial screening call with a recruiter, where they provided an overview of the role and the company while assessing my background and fit for the position. This was followed by a technical assessment that tested my problem-solving skills and technical expertise. The assessment was challenging but fair, focusing on real-world scenarios relevant to the role. The final stage was an informal video interview with the hiring manager. This was a conversational session that explored my previous experience, projects, and alignment with the company’s goals and values. The hiring manager also took time to explain the expectations for the role and what a typical day might look like. The entire process took about two weeks, and communication was consistent throughout. I appreciated how quickly the recruiter followed up after each stage and kept me informed about the next steps. Overall, the experience was positive. The interviewers were professional, friendly, and genuinely interested in getting to know me. It felt more like a discussion than a formal interrogation, which helped me feel comfortable and confident.
