      Senior Associate Interview

      Jun 22, 2026
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I interviewed at Ofcom (London, England)

      Interview

There was one screening call with HR, followed by a technical interview with a Principal and a Senior Associate. The technical interview consisted of four parts: i) A 5–10 minute presentation on a case study provided in advance, followed by a few follow-up questions; ii) Questions about my previous professional experience and motivation for the role; iii) Two case study questions; and iv) Competency-based questions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The case they shared in advance focused on an increase in user prices, and I analysed both horizontal and vertical theories of harm that can explain this. They also asked questions on online safety (a policy-related question) and on what factors should be considered when regulating AI (an economic regulation question).

      Senior Associate Interview

      Dec 7, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Ofcom

      Interview

Three stages - online application, phone screen with external recruiter, and then interview with 3 person panel. First stage was standard, with a cv and cover letter. During the phone screen, the recruiter discussed salary expectations, gave me some info about the role and asked questions to understand my motivation behind applying and the kind of work I did in my current role. The interview was about an hour long, with four competency based questions and one presentation. The name/description of the competency and the topic of the presentation were shared in advance. Process was relatively long (2 months from application to offer) but the recruiter kept me informed at all stages. Expectations clearly set from the start and salary ranges clearly communicated. Interview panel was extremely supportive and asked lots of probing questions, which will weed out unsuitable candidates

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Recruiter - tell me about a typical day in your current role? Interview panel - Tell us about a time when you had to communicate complex/technical information to a diverse audience?

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ofcom (London, England) in Sep 2024

      Interview

The interview process began with a call from the recruiter, during which I was asked about my salary expectations, why I want to work at Ofcom, what attracted me to the role, whether I have relevant experience for the position, and why I am looking to change jobs. They also inquired about my availability to start and my visa situation. Following this initial call, I was given a task to complete within 24 hours. After submitting the task, I had a panel interview with two Senior Associates and a Director.
