Interviews at Palisades Tahoe

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Palisades Tahoe
Interview was a ski check around the mountain, talking about scenarios and what if situations. Got to meet the majority of the staff and ski around with them, basically interviewing them about the job.
- How long have you been skiing?

Very friendly, open - asked mainly about experience dealing with people and difficult situations. Also asked about number of years skiing etc. - whether ir not certified and if willing to continue certification process
- What level skier are you

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Palisades Tahoe in Dec 2020
Lengthy, far too intense of questions for an assitant manager position at a cafeteria. This company hires mostly temporarily employees on visas and their interview questions were based around how you "bridge" cultural gaps for these individuals.
- How would you bridge a cultural gap for a new employee who has just arrived to the United States?

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Palisades Tahoe (Olympic Valley, CA) in Oct 2019
The onboarding process is very extensive, and the amount of time required to apply for a part time job is way too extensive. Hours spent online before you can even interview.
- I was asked about my love of skiing and how I could enhance the skiing of my young team.

Interview by Skype with very friendly hiring manager. Manager was easy to talk to and enhanced interview by sharing personal experiences relevant to my shared experiences. The interviewer first prompted me to describe myself and my interest in the position. We had very comfortable conversation about my relevant experience and eventually transitioned into regular, required interview questioning. Throughout the interview, the manager answered multiple questions that I had and took time to answer any that we had not covered before getting off the call. At the end of the interview the manager was very clear about the hiring process and when I should hear back.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Palisades Tahoe (Alpine Meadows, CA) in Jan 2016
I knew a worker there so he recommended me to his manager and I got an interview. It was pretty simple, with questions such as why I wanted to work there, what my schedule was like, if I'd be able to do all of the duties, if I skiied or boarded. Got an offer right after. Took my interview in the middle of a snowboarding day with my friends so I showed in full gear.
- Why I wanted to work there
- What is your schedule like?
- Do you ski or board?

Anonymous Employee in Squaw Valley, CA
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Palisades Tahoe (Squaw Valley, CA) in Nov 2015
I was on the opposite coast, so my interview was conducted over the phone. I applied for the position online, and then got an email notification that I had been selected for an interview. I then communicated with the store's manager by email to decide on a time for the interview. We spoke over the phone.
- How would you handle an unavoidable circumstance making you late to work?

Anonymous Employee in Olympic Valley, CA
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Palisades Tahoe (Olympic Valley, CA) in Oct 2015
Pretty straight forward and relaxed. They have you come in and sit in an empty room at a table with the interviewer who would later become your boss and they ask you simple questions about experience, why you want to work there, and scenario questions.
- What would you do if one of your students (a young child) started crying and asking for her parents (even though they have left for the day)?

Anonymous Employee in Tahoe City, CA
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Palisades Tahoe (Tahoe City, CA) in Nov 2014
Really easy interview if you have a pulse and arn't a total alcoholic...even if you are. Drug testing makes it hard for them to find people. Ideally you just want to get this job to get the free pass so work one day a week and find something that tips in town.
- Who do you know

I interviewed at Palisades Tahoe
Average interview
- N/A, pretty standard stuff
