      UI/User Experience Designer Interview

      Feb 9, 2017

      Dallas, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PartnerComm, Inc. (Dallas, TX) in Dec 2016

      Interview

My Job interview at PartnerComm had 2 steps. I was contacted by Creative Circle, a staffing agency at Dallas. They told me that there is a contract position for UI/UX Designer at PartnerComm Inc. and scheduled an interview with one of the CEO and Sr.Designer at Arlington office. During the interview I was asked to talk about my professional and educational background. Then I was asked to do a walk through of my Portfolio & works. I was asked to talk about my favorite work and why it's my favorite. Then they asked me to explain my design process. Then the CEO showed me the entire office, introduced me to some of the employees and showed me some of the work which they were working on. I had a feeling that the first phase of the interview went well, but they didn't say that I will be hired. Instead I was asked to go to the Dallas office if possible on the same day to have the second phase of the interview with the other CEO &Art Director. I went to the Dallas office and the other CEO and Art Director interviewed me. I was asked to show my portfolio works and talk about the process and softwares that I use. The CEO started asking me some logical questions which is connected with real time work and project handling situation. I had to give reasoning type answers. Then he asked my strength and weakness. Then they showed me one of the web design and asked me to describe all changes and what I would do if I'm redesigning that websIte and explain why. I did that. Then the Art Director spoke to me some time about the type of work they do and the process they follow. Later the CEO also joined the discussion and told me about the company and showed me a mobile app which they developed for their employees. After a week I received a call from Creative Circle and told that PartnerComm would like to hire me as a Full-time Employee, not as a contract employee. It was surprisingly good news and I took the job due to the following reasons: • I liked the way they communicated with me during the Interview. It was a very formal interview, but I felt that they really care about their employees by the way they interacted. • I liked their office environment. Arlington office is a traditional office with colonial style and Dallas office is a modern type office with contemporary style. There is a option to switch between offices anytime so nobody gets bored sitting in the same office location everyday. • Dallas office is close my home and it makes my commute easy.
