The HR department is horrible. Typical city workers that take forever to process your request and do the absolute minimum. The HR employees put as little effort as possible when attempting to schedule interviews and on boarding tasks. The onboarding tasks had lengthy wait times at places that are very similar to the DMV. You are not paid for the time you spend taking onboarding test which totaled 3 hours for me. Better yet I was not even reimbursed for parking at the airport. The HR employees are careless when it comes to certain information regarding the people they are emailing, of which allowed me to see exactly who applied for the position and was excepted for an interview and when they were interviewing. Unless you are here for the long run and the future benefits, I highly recommended that you do not apply for a intern position. The pay is public information so you may look up what the current intern's are making before you apply, don't expect much for working for the city. Somehow the HR department manage to tick me off every time I had to communicate with them. Other than the HR department the interviewer was great and understood the various city procedures.
