The interview process started with an online application. Upon completing the application I was asked to create a 3 minute video of myself explaining why I think I would be a good candidate for the SEO position. Next, I had to listen to over an hour of Power Marketing Consultants marketing demo tape and take a quiz. The quiz was not difficult but seemed pretty unnecessary to fill the position. Finally, after much communication back and forth between the owner, I was invited for a personal interview. The owner seemed like I was wasting his time and mainly talked up his business instead of asking me about my qualifications. He made it very apparent that he (and his company) were very right wing conservative and Christian and that was what the company was founded on. He stated that if I had a problem with that, then it was not the right company to be with. I expressed my own opinion that I did not have a problem with that but I would expect my own personal beliefs to be respected. He seemed to be okay with that but I can't help to think that I was discriminated against in the hiring process because I was not a conservative Christian.
