Standard outreach from an internal recruiter after applying for an initial screening. Follow-up second round interview with the hiring manager with mostly standard questions and scenarios to walk through.
The second round interview felt natural and organic - the conversation flew by. We went over our allotted time which felt like a positive sign that there was more ground to cover and an interest in keeping the conversation going without ending abruptly.
Sadly, this is the first interview process I've been involved with where I didn't receive any update at all that I was passed over for the role. I had to wait two weeks before hearing back only *after* I sent a follow-up email.
For a small company that just recently received a round of funding, I understand wanting to move fast and stay focused, but that shouldn't prevent you from doing the due diligence of keeping candidates informed of where they stand. Things like that feel indicative of how things will get done at work: cutting corners and sacrificing bare minimum protocol.
