Initial call was nice, then there’s a 1-week long coding assignment upfront. The assignment was not complex but simply takes up a lot of time due to the sheer amount of page elements to implement.
I feel like it’s the type of assignment that the more time you spend on it, e.g. making it perfect in code quality, adding automated tests for multiple edge cases, etc., the more it’ll impress the interviewer. But not everyone will have the same amount of free time during the 1 week period, which will undoubtedly cause unfairness.
I still ended up spending a lot of time on it and then submitted. Then I got rejected with a generic response and no feedback whatsoever on what’s missing or how to improve. I can accept small assignments submitted without feedback, but for an assignment of such size, not having any feedback is just… well what do you think?
