      Inside Sales Trainee Interview

      Mar 24, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Puffer Sweiven in Aug 2024

      Interview

The interview was divided up into 3-4 interviews with each person, each asking questions about your background for about 30 minutes each. They promised to get back with me in 2 weeks, but it was actually 3 weeks for a response, and I didn't get any feedback to improve for future interviews. I sent thank you messages after the interview but I didn't get any responses. They pride themselves in being a sales company, and if you weren't interested in sales, then they weren't trying hire you. They kept saying that there is no hybrid work and it was important for you to learn the different types of valves and ask questions about the different processes. Even though it's a training program, it seems like they are very picky about who they get. I was willing to learn the technical side as well as the products but I guess they don't want minorities like myself as the company gives a very "good ole boy" vibe. Even though the pay is good for entry level, it is a very conservative environment. I hope the company will consider hiring more minorities and become less conservative. Sometimes I think about if I would have gotten hired if I would have lied on my interview answers.

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Puffer Sweiven (Houston, TX) in Oct 2011

      Interview

Interview with several people two HR people the seemingly random managers. Wasn't a hard interview, mostly seemed like they just wanted to see if they would like not really if you were qualified. They asked the typical questions about past jobs and why you left them. Nothing unexpected really. I do feel that they don't describe the job well enough during the interview and that the HR description is very general. So you could not really know what job you're truly going into.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked about my pursuit of a graduate degree. If I was going to or not, then I was asked why I wanted to.
