Someone from HR reached out via email and wanted a work product without any extra vetting or offering any chance to learn more about the position. (Email included topic and deadline and was the first correspondence from the company following initial application). This led me to wonder how legitimate the role was, and I was somewhat reassured to see it at least has the legitimacy of mixed reviews on glassdoor. Asking for a chance to discuss the role and company before completing a work product led to being passed over ... because I hadn't finished the work product. This is a very unusual (if not suspicious) interview process, and certainly speaks to the sense of not being valued or heard as well as being underpaid and overworked that several employees have written about in RANE company reviews.
