      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Reddie & Grose (London, England)

      Interview

Online application then got an email about first stage interview in 3 weeks. FIRST STAGE: Asked to describe how a can opener works in writing then interview with a person from HR and a qualified attorney. SECOND STAGE: Interview with 2 qualified attorneys comparing can opener from first interview to a different older one (What is patentable in the new one compared to the old?)

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

FIRST STAGE: Competency based questions like "Name a time you've displayed teamwork but you weren't the leader" Name a time you had to convince another person and a time when someone had to convince you" "Describe an occasion where you had to present to people" SECOND STAGE: Basically redo written description of can opener but verbally this time They ask about a project you've done, most likely your dissertation "How did you plan the project?" "How did you find having to read all that text during your literature research for it?" "Why a career in IP?" "Why Reddie and Grose?" "Why a career in IP?" "Why Reddie and Grose?" "How do you feel about the conversion to law?"

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Reddie & Grose (London, England) in Nov 2024

      Interview

I had two interviews with Reddie & Grose. The first was online and was mainly about my experiences and skills I had developed from these experiences. There was also a 30 minute written task at the start of the interview to describe a household item. I heard back very quickly about the second interview (within an hour of completing the first), and was invited to the London office. Here I had an interview with two partners. This was more focused on my masters project and what it entailed, as well as more about my experiences. They briefly looked at my written description but I wasn't asked much on it. I heard back less than a week later. Overall the process was very streamlined and smooth and everyone was extremely friendly throughout!

      Question 1

Describe your Masters project and how you approached it.

      Application

I interviewed at Reddie & Grose

      Interview

For the interview with the partners, I had to describe the function of a can opener whilst being asked critical-thinking questions about it, eg. What would happen if this was smooth instead of spiked, etc.
