I participated in a phone screening, an interview, and a mock project. The phone screening was 30 minutes long with the Vice President. It was over the phone and consisted mainly of information regarding the company background and role, with a few high-level questions about my experience and skills. Then, the interview was 30 minutes long over Zoom with the Vice President and a Senior Designer consisting of more in-depth questions about my technical skills and situational questions. At the end of the interview, as the final step, I was asked to complete a mock project where I was required to select furniture and materials for a 500-square-foot conference room and complete an FF&E floor plan and a presentation. I was given the project late Friday afternoon and asked to return it by end-of-day Wednesday, which I considered to be a short timeline. After successfully completing and returning the project on time, I was given positive feedback about the presentation but then never heard from the VP or Senior designer again despite multiple follow-up emails. I also never received confirmation that I was not the chosen candidate for the position.
