Interview
I had an initial phone screen with a recruiter. They didn't set up the call with me prior. During the call, they asked me if I️ had known much about the company. I️ obviously didn't have time to research prior to the call because they didn't bother letting me know about the call beforehand.
I moved forward to the next round phone interview. It felt more like an interrogation than a conversation. They went straight into grilling on my experience. I didn't feel comfortable or valued for my time during the call.
I️ asked if the team is currently facing any challenges (obviously most teams do), and they said they don't incur any challenges because they are successful at what they do. What kind of team doesn't face any challenges? It didn't sound like an honest answer and I️ didn't get a sense of empathy or humility.
It took 2 weeks to receive feedback from them. I️ did not move forward in the process with them but I'm so glad I️ dodged this bullet. I️ personally would not want to work for a team with that kind of attitude and lack of transparency.
This was the worst candidate experience I've experienced while interviewing.
