Great interview process from start to finish. I interviewed for the recommendations team at Roku and met some amazing engineers/managers on the team. The team is using state-of-the-art deep learning/machine learning techniques to improve the user experience on Roku channel, and is growing rapidly. Could be a great opportunity if you are an ML engineer and interested in building a scalable recommendation system. The interviews are moderately difficult and focus less on coding but more on system architecture, big data, ML algorithms. Roku is very quick at providing the interview feedback. I was fortunate to work with Michelle Hayes (Senior Recruiter) who made the entire process very transparent and quick (phone screening to offer was done within 10 days).

Pretty standard. 1 phone screen and 4 tech virtual on-site. The interview experience was great. The people I talked with are knowledgeable and humble. Questions were difficult but they wanted me to succeed and gave some hints that were helpful. After the interview they wanted to go ahead with an offer. I was interviewing for the Search and Recommendations team and my recruiter was Michelle. I had an excellent experience working with her. She knew I had other offers and didn’t try to hurry me in making a decision. Gave me ample time and scheduled Zoom calls with the hiring manager and a senior engineer post interviews which was really helpful. She knew I had other competitive offers and made sure to prepare a really good offer for me. She went over the details of the offer which was helpful as Roku’s compensation structure is different from any other company. Overall the entire process was an excellent experience.
