The scheduling and interviewing process went very smoothly. The people and association seem great. I respect and am thankful for that, however, I had a few complaints about the actual position as outlined to me through interviews. Firstly, 3 different people had 3 similar, but contrasting, views about what the role would actually do. One interview described the role as a research & advocacy consultant, another interviewer made it sound like a research assistant position and another person described it as a teaching & research assistant position. Despite a significant policy focus in the job description, it was not mentioned once, nor were there any questions asked probing my policy analysis qualifications. The pay was significantly lower than average (about 12 hourly dollars lower), with no good reason provided for the underpay.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SAITSA (Calgary, AB) in Aug 2017
Interview
It was very quick, basic questions. I have a feeling they were looking for more of how I was answering the questions (kind/polite) more then what I was saying. Very nice interviews.
