      Interview

Met with two separate groups of three people from various backgrounds. Asked questions to explore my underlying personality as much as discussing prior work and education experience. I could really tell they were interested in learning who I am far beyond just my resume.

      Difficult interview

      Interview

Having a good recruiter to help you in the interview process goes a long way in making the interviewing journey less stressful and satisfying. I was fortunate to have a great recruiter to work with. The first step is a screening call with the recruiter. Routine stuff about the resume and interests. Then you are given a choice of 10 data-sets and you need to pick one. You analyze the data and create a presentation in a weeks time. An analyst goes over it and determines if you should get the next round. Then comes a 45 min skype round with a Product Manager. Do you research about the insurance industry for this round. You will require it to answer the questions meaningfully. An analytical or modeling background helps a lot too. If you clear this round, they will fly you out to Columbus, Ohio for a full day of on-site interviews. These are intense as you might have 4-5 rounds with multiple people. The conversations will take a deep dive into your background, your experience, your suitability for this role etc. Be prepared to go deep into your analytical projects and also provide business sense that those projects made. (Remember: Insurance analysts are all about identifying trends and improving your insurance model to better the competition and provide the best rate to your policy holders). Throughout the process, the recruiter kept me posted about the updates and was prompt in replying. As an interviewer, this soothes your nerves and lets you concentrate on the more important stuff.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Refer the interview description. They might give you insurance modeling scenarios and ask your opinions to understand how you think.
