I applied through other source. I interviewed at Samsara (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2017
Interview
1st step: Phone screen with Sales Recruiter
2nd Step: Competency call with Sales VP
3rd Step: Onsite meeting with Sales manager, 2 VP of Sales and CEO (30 minutes with each).
Massively positive experience. Very inspirational leadership team, I was sold on the company after the first call with the VP. The process felt natural, relaxed and conversational as opposed to an interrogation, there was lots of time for questions about the product, culture and vision for the company. Clear they are looking for talent and culture fit as opposed to just sales people. Management was happy to get into the weeds about the role and what is required for success. Based on my experience I would absolutely recommend interviewing with Samsara.
I first spoke with a recruiter for the screening process, which took about 25 minutes. She was late, but was very nice and provided tips on what they're looking for. She sent a lot of follow up information to prep for the next interview round. I then met with the hiring manager who did a deeper dive into numbers and expectations.
5 rounds in total, 1 with HR, 1 with a Sales Manager, then 3 in 1 day: Manager, Director and another Director. Very low acceptance rate. Must demonstrate growth mindset, specific deal metrics, and a natural drive.
