Really liked the team, company seemed great, and interviews went stellar. Had feedback on several answers that I had some of the best answers they had heard. Ensured that I "closed" with every interviewer and was even told "You're a natural and would be a complete fit with the team" by one. Felt I would fit in the team and my experience was completely adjacent to what would be successful. Went through phone screen, hiring manager interview, and the panel. Also spoke with several reps who were so kind (shout-out the Reps are amazingly kind people). Thought it was the best fit I had ever had for a job in my life. Only red flag was that I asked about variability in compensation bands and was told very harshly by recruiter there would be no negotiating whatsoever. I said OK, that's not everything, let's wait to see if we are a good fit. Stayed honest and open the entire interview process. Got a call that they were "going in a different direction" and when I asked for feedback, was told they didn't do that and I wouldn't get any. I felt for the hours I put into researching the company and interviewing that this was extremely unprofessional. Very unfortunate for what appeared to be a solid workplace--maybe I was wrong about that.
