The process was pretty easy. For me, I was studying at this particular library one day, I saw that they had job applications and filled one out. I think what made the process a little bit easier for me was that I had a little bit of customer service experience on my resume and I was in the process of attaining a degree. Keep in mind though the job I applied for was the most basic position which is a library page which does not require you to have extensive experience or knowledge about how libraries operate. Make sure you have at least two reliable references before applying, they may still hire you if you have only one, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I received the phone call for an in person interview about 3-4 weeks after submitting the written application. Back-ground check is standard (SBPD conducts the back-ground check). For the interview I had two people asking me questions.
