The Interview process took two days. I had attended interview on Sept 9, 2015 for UI developer position. They had conducted five rounds- a technical objective type round, technical discussion with senior tech lead, programming skills test using a computer with internet facility (they gave multiple scenarios from which one was selected) which again reviewed by a tech expert, and a managerial round of discussion- on the same day. I got informed by the tech lead that HR will contact me for the HR round and moreover he gifted me a T-shirt with their logo on it :D. I had been waiting since then for the HR round which did not happen.
After three months, I got a call from some consultancy for openings in the same company, Skidata. I informed him about my previous experience. He did cross-checked with the company and replied back asking me to come down for a face to face with their manager and not for any further rounds. I was confused but he made me believe that they are going to select me as I had already cleared all the rounds but, they wanted me to have a managerial round as a formality. On Dec 19, I went through managerial round easily, but the rest of the candidates, assembled there, had to go through 2 or 3 technical rounds to have a managerial discussion.
After managerial discussion, HR approached me and told that I would be getting an update after two weeks. Again, it was making me more perplexed and I asked for the reason, to which her reply was not satisfying. Anyways, I informed her that I would be waiting for their update, which I haven't received yet. But I do checked with consultancy, and they told I am rejected.
I have several doubts now in my mind
1) Why they rejected me as they haven't conducted any technical rounds in my second chance and the managerial round which I went through didn't have any kind of complex discussions to end up in rejecting me.
2) Why they wanted me to go through a managerial round as a second chance, if they were decided not to select me.
