I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Southwest Key Programs (Houston, TX) in February 2016.

    Interview

I attended a job fair and was hired on the spot. Afterwards I had to take a drug test, TB test (which I had to pay for), digital fingerprints (I had to pay for), extensive background check, then had to wait over a month to start the training of which I was told the night before.

    Clinician Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Houston, TX

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Southwest Key Programs (Houston, TX).

    Interview

I was interviewed by the Lead Clinician and Assistant Program Director. The APD at the time came in wearing Crocs which should have been my first red flag. The interview was basic. I asked why the position had become vacant and they went around the question, gave me some kind of politician answer, another red flag. The interview lasted about 30-45 minutes. They took several weeks to call and finally did and I accepted their offer. I then went and completed my background check, fingerprints and drug test.

    Interview Questions

    • They asked if I was willing to be at the hospital all night with a client and still come in the next morning for my shift. The other questions were pretty standard, tell me about a challenge or obstacle you faced, tell me about working on a team or independently, etc.   1 Answer

    Lead Teacher Interview

    Interview

I contacted a hiring manager from the Unaccompanied Minors program at Southwest Key. I had one phone interview and then a face-to-face interview with two program directors. The process moved very quickly because it happened in the summer of 2014, when there was a large influx of unaccompanied minors from Central America.

    Interview Questions

    • The most difficult part of the interview, for me, was when they tested my Spanish speaking skills.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Southwest Key Programs (Phoenix, AZ) in January 2014.

    Interview

The interview process was a joke. The questions were very generic. I could not understand the individual doing the interview due to a strong accent. The interview was very vague and basic. The day after the interview i received a call offering me the position.

    Youth Care Worker Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Pleasant Hill, CA

    Neutral Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Southwest Key Programs (Pleasant Hill, CA).

    Interview

Interview process is fairly straight forward. Company literature talks about how we value the individual, be creative, show initiative but when you do, they shut you down. New employees arrive with lots of enthusiasm and within a few weeks it gone. They want robots, yes people.
