First, I tried emailing the address they offer on the website. The marketing manager contacted me, and it was a slow but steady progress. We scheduled a time for me to come into the station. I emailed her my resumed ahead of time, and when I came in she just talked to me for a while and gave me a tour. She quit a few weeks later, after offering me the internship. Unsure what to do, I emailed the volunteer coordinator. She scheduled a new interview and a new position with new people, and I was pretty thrown. Expecting something like the first one, I came in to be "ambushed" (or so it felt) by a panel of staff members. They asked me about various parts of my application, my schooling, my hobbies, etc., and went over what my duties would be. They seemed stern at the time; in retrospect, they were just making sure I could handle it. They offered me the same internship, and I took it and loved it. As a high school student, I think this has been a fantastic experience. I had to prove myself, but it was totally worth it.
