I applied online. I interviewed at Square One Insurance in Jan 2026
Interview
The process consisted primarily of an excessive mandatory automated screening assessment exceeding 500 questions, covering logic, mathematics, and moral scenarios, with no evidence of résumé review or human interaction before rejection. Please don't waste your time on it.

Question 1
Completion of a very long automated screening questionnaire (500+ questions) focused on cognitive tests and moral scenarios, rather than role-relevant UX skills or experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Square One Insurance (Vancouver, BC) in Apr 2025
Interview
Got a message on Indeed to set up an HR call. The call was about 30 minutes and I got asked 8 questions. Also, the HR sent out two long tests after the call which includes basic math calculations, comprehension test, and personality test.

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Square One Insurance in Sep 2025
Interview
Applied via Indeed and the same day got a message to schedule a 15-minute phone interview. I scheduled it for the only time slot available the following week.
When I received the call, the person on the other end was very rushed. She advised the call is being recorded for quality control and training purposes. As I answered her questions, at different points I could tell she wanted me to stop talking so as to not exceed the allotted 15 minutes. It was like being interviewed by a call centre agent who needing to hit certain metrics.
Also, requirements said u/w experience preferred but will consider someone with solely advisor experience. I was able to indicate on the application 0 years u/w experience, with "x" years advisor experience. Application also asked if I had a completed designation, to which I replied no as my designation is still in progress. However, during the interview the agent asked me to describe my u/w experience. She also asked if I had a completed designation. Clearly my application had not been reviewed.
She ended by saying if moving forward in the interview process I'd get a notification on Indeed within a few days. Just a couple hours later I logged on to Indeed to check the status of a different submission, and the Square One application already said "Not selected by employer". I was actually in shock. It's ironic that they tout a culture of value and respect on their website career page, yet can't even extend that courtesy applicants.
