Interview was a phone call with one of the managers (which for some reason isn't part of HR at the company), that went really well. She was very personable and likable. Then video call with her plus the HR person who was leaving. HR was very old school, believed HR should be under finance, and explained HR was responsible for the state taxes of all states they worked at (among other things). Questions were random and not relevant to the job or my experience, just some odd things about the future of HR in a general sense. Third interview was a 20 minute power point presentation to present an HR strategy for the company. Not enough information about the company given for this, nor did it seem reasonable with no compensation plus no guarantee that one would be hired but my ideas would not be used. Sounded like free work, honestly. After much debate, I bowed out after that as I figured I can present fine, but this was likely not a good fit.
