Do not apply here! This was the most unprofessional and slipshod interview process I have ever had the misfortune to engage in. I tried to get a hold of the reference librarian who chaired the search committee on the phone *three* times on the phone over two days and could not get him at all. Finally I had to call the circulation desk a fourth time and even they couldn't get him, though they did send him a message.
When he finally emailed me back, he was very abrupt and said that I should download Zoom for the interview, even though earlier he said it could be done by phone. When I tried to negotiate a time to do a phone interview, he refused to work with me and kept saying nine o'clock, even though I couldn't make it on those days. I was about to see if I could make it on nine the following Monday, but he nastily cut me off and basically said not to bother going forward, even though I was going to agree to nine o'clock. Angered, I withdrew my application along with my other application to the college.
This is extremely unprofessional behavior on the part of the reference librarian in charge of the committee, and he should not be in charge of hiring or interviewing anyone. If they only have certain times they can interview and require Zoom, they should list them on the job ad and not waste people's time. Oh yeah, and he ought to pick up his phone and check his email once in a blue moon. Stay away from SUNY Delhi because they are the epitome of unprofessionalism when it comes to hiring. Thanks to this experience, I will never apply there again.
