I applied online. I interviewed at TXI (Chicago, IL) in May 2017
Interview
Everyone I met was welcoming, kind and lovely. Started with an in person conversation and lunch (made by their in house chef). I then completed a coding assessment and finally came in to pair program with two of their engineering. It was a great experience with a group of wonderful people.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at TXI (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2017
Interview
After a brief (25min) face to face (I was given the option of meeting in person or doing a phone interview) wherein we spoke mostly about my goals/ experiences and the company culture. I was then given a coding challenge to complete at home. I won't give away the details of the challenge except to say that I was able to complete it using any language/ framework I wanted and that it took me about 15 hours to finish complete with tests. I would imagine a more experienced candidate could have successfully completed it in far less time. My application met their requirements and I was invited in to meet with two developers. We spoke a lot about the position I was applying for and did some (20 minutes maybe) pair programming (refactoring the application I had worked on). After that they notified me that they weren't going to continue the interview process with me but were going to pursue more experienced candidates.
Everyone I met during this process was super cool and the company seems to be a high class operation. I was also treated to lunch during both visits. It seems like a great place to work. Great people, great culture and on the cutting edge of many different creative fields. After my rejection one of the senior developers was nice enough to speak with me on the phone for about fifteen minutes.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During the initial meeting questions were not technical but rather more geared towards discovering my personality, goals and at a high level, experience. Also much of the time was spent educating me on the company culture. During the second meeting there were some questions about my work method and a few random technical questions that came up just as a result of going through my take home assignment.
