I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Talabat in Sep 2025
Interview
Tabalat reached out to me for a role and I went through total 5 interview rounds over two months. All rounds went well and the final discussion also felt positive. However, I didn’t receive any update afterward even after following up multiple times over the next month.
The interviewers were polite throughout but the lack of closure felt unprofessional especially considering the time and effort invested. Based on this experience I would advise candidates to be mindful of the time they commit unless the hiring process improves.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They mainly asked questions related to data science and real-time business scenarios.
Horrible interviewing process. I had to have anticipated interviews in one day with no prior notice. The HR never replied in the beginning to my application until after a while one of my acquaintances at Talabat pushed my CV twice to her (in an interval of 3 months). When she scheduled the interview for SQL and data mining, she asked in last minute to have it the following day, which I did and I performed very well, and right after it she asked me to have the final interview after one hour of it (I had no time to prepare their favorite topic: Causal inference (which they only use and requires some minimal preparation). Obviously their senior director had to gently reject my profile (He said I am smart but need to read some books about causal inference and then come back). You guys are not that important, you will not pay me a crazy salary compared to the market to act like this.
Overall negative experience due to recruiter, who reached out first but were unresponsive, made multiple mistakes and schedule interviews at last minute.
5 rounds of interview. 1 HR, 2 coding, 1 ML breadth and depth and 1 behavior/fit. Some interviewers made me really excited for the jobs for their passion. Even though I did well, eventually the recruiter just ghosted, not answering to follow up email, despite me spending 5 rounds with them.
