      Senior Manufacturing Engineer Interview

      Sep 8, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Hunt Valley, MD
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Textron Systems (Hunt Valley, MD) in Nov 2015

      Interview

Received a call from TA Recruiter early November. Interviewed with hiring manager and his manager 2 weeks later. Also interviewed with HR mgr. Hr manager questions were simple, job history, salary expectations, etc. Hiring manager interview was easy, he described the business, products, a tour of the facilities, he basically did all the talking. He was really impressed with my resume and he said I was the guy the guy he wants and even texted his manager, he wants me for the position and he showed me the text. So I also met with his manager and it was a laid back questions and answers. Received the offer 2 weeks later. Of course the offer was at the minimum that I told the HR manager and less than what I was making at the time already.. I countered and they added $2K and said the was BAFO. So I accepted. Informed my current contract employer but they offered me a permanent position and more $$, so I accepted. Tried contacting hiring manager via email at Textron but he was already on Christmas vacation to discuss the position again with Textron. I emailed HR manager 2 days later via email to rescind offer but no response. Come the New Year and the career site had deleted my email account. Fast forward 2 years later, I tried applying for another position with a different email account. Check back a few days later to see status and it was DELETED again. I created another account to apply for the position again and 2 hrs later I get a call from a TA recruiter (young person guessing an intern) asked questions about my resume, why I was looking for a new position, experiences, and then thaks me for my time. Check back online the next day for status, REVIEWED, NOT SELECTED. So companies do hold grudges if you rescind an offer and will hold it against you years down the road.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The manager really didn't ask me anything, my resume spoke for itself and I had the feeling (plus he kept telling how great I am (not bragging or anything)).
