The interview process at The Adaptavist Group took approximately one month and was divided into five structured stages. It began with an introductory call from their in-house recruiter, Callum, who discussed my background and clearly outlined the interview steps. His professionalism and detailed explanation sparked my interest in the company.
The second stage was a take-home technical assessment consisting of two tasks. The first required automating a workflow using Groovy scripts and ScriptRunner. The second involved identifying script errors and proposing effective solutions. While the tasks were manageable, they were designed to assess both technical skill and problem-solving ability.
In the third stage, I participated in an in-depth discussion of the assessment with a panel of three interviewers. I was able to walk them through my approach and explain my solutions. However, I misunderstood a requirement in the second task—I identified the root causes and proposed solutions but failed to provide a corrected version of the script itself. Unfortunately, this oversight cost me the opportunity.
After receiving feedback, I submitted the corrected script, hoping for a second chance, especially given The Adaptavist Group’s reputation as a people-first organization. Although it didn’t work out this time, I truly appreciate the experience and professionalism throughout the process, and I look forward to future opportunities with the company.
