Based on their feedback after the 1st. Interview, below is their email update:
"We were particularly impressed with my skills and experience. However, this role will require a future team member with certifications, weather ITSM or Atlassian. For these reasons, we have decided to move forward with another candidate whose qualifications are better suited to this particular role."
At this point, I replied to address my concern and respect their decision.
"Thank you for the update and for the opportunity to interview with Adaptavist.
While I respect the decision, I was surprised to learn that ITSM or Atlassian certifications were a significant factor, as the job description https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/TheAdaptavistGroup/744000125804531-associate-service-desk-analyst-f-m-d-german-speaker- appeared to focus on experience with ITIL practices and Jira rather than formal certifications. Since I progressed through the screening and interview stages, I understood that my practical experience aligned well with the role requirements.
My only feedback would be that, if certifications are likely to be a key differentiator, making this more explicit earlier in the process could help candidates better assess their suitability and expectations.
Thank you again for your time, and I wish the team all the best.
"
