I applied online. I interviewed at The Pensions Regulator (Bristol, England) in Jul 2024
Interview
Friendly, respectful and positive. The panelists spoke in a very clear way and have me the opportunity to speak. I was one of the first to apply so I got a call very early. I completed a technical exercise as well.

Question 1
Technical pensions questions which I wasn’t very familiar with since I didn’t have pension background.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at The Pensions Regulator
Interview
CV and Cover letter submitted online
passed initial recruitment stage,
Asked to plan an extensive research project in PowerPoint presentation for response to upcoming pensions review. That was in Feb 2026 - for over two months i have received no response. I chased to ask what was going on - my email was blanked.
In the mean time, a freelance / temporary role with the same description was advertised by the team via external recruitment agencies - it is apparent to me they have enough time to chase staff but lack common decency to update those who have invested time and effort into the hiring process. Completely reprehensible.
Recruiters managing the external temp role have advised company have had either the perm or freelance role vacancy available intermittently since jun 2025 which highlights: possible high churn of staff, significant capacity issues, attempts to use this vacancy to mine prospective candidates ideas to plan their response to the pensions commission in lieu of adequate resources.
