I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at The River Group in Feb 2025
Interview
An internal recruiter contacted me about the role on LinkedIn. Had a screening call with him then a first interview which both went well, team were lovely. Had a second interview which was a design task (quite a hefty one) and presented it back. This was in February. It's now mid-April and I'm still waiting to hear back. I've had no feedback and the only updates I've gotten is when I've chased the recruiter. The excuse I kept getting was the team are busy working on pitches... but it's been months. The least they could do is offer feedback or give updates. Felt like a complete waste of time and energy and from the reviews, it doesn't seem like it's the first time it's happened.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The design task was to come up with three concepts for a brief they supplied for a client they work with.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at The River Group (London, England) in Jan 2025
Interview
The interview via Team Meeting went very well with my Finance Manager. He has a really good attitude and charisma to process the interview and for me to succeed it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
My Finance Manager asked me to talk about myself , experiences and the company at The River Group.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at The River Group (London, England) in Feb 2023
Interview
I was having a look through some old documents and emails and remember that this company had interviewed me. I took part in 3 different interview stages, including creating a task for Superdrug's new magazine. I kept being told they would send feedback soon and I followed-up on different occasions but they never replied to me; it was all empty promises and a waste of time. I luckily landed a job somewhere else, but what a joke!

Thank you for getting in contact and we’re sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t up to our usual high standard. The vast majority of our candidates have a very positive experience during the recruitment process, regardless of the offer outcome. Although this was 18 months ago, we believed that all candidates had received feedback but evidently this must have been missed and we can only apologise.
We understand how important it is to receive updates and feedback in a timely manner to give applicants the best experience and will make sure the team are aware of your situation so we can make sure this doesn’t happen again. As this Glassdoor post is anonymous, please feel free to contact the internal talent team on recruitment@therivergroup.co.uk if you'd like to discuss it directly.
