I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Week Publications (Cochin) in Jun 2023
Interview
I was an intern, so the interview was very straightforward. I submitted a letter stating why I wanted to work there, and I got approved immediately. I found the internship through someone I knew working there.

Question 1
I was asked to submit a letter stating why I wanted to work there
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at The Week Publications (New York, NY) in Apr 2022
Interview
The ad said to submit the application materials to a recruiter, which I did. We hopped on a call the next day, and they asked me to provide more writing samples. A couple of weeks later, I was told they went forward with candidates with very niche experience, a type that wasn't requested in the job description.
Incidentally, a week or two after that I saw the exact same ad posted anew. I guess they don't know how to state what they want.

Question 1
I only had a screener call, so the recruiter mostly asked about my background and the kinds of writing I've done.
