      Research Analyst Interview

      Nov 27, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Third Bridge (London, England) in Nov 2014

      Interview

They got back to me about my application within two weeks of having submitted it, requesting a telephone interview (as part of the first step in the application process). The interviewer asked me basic questions about the company: Do you know what we do? Why do you want to work with us? How was your transition from A-Levels to University and from University to Work life? All fairly straight forward. The interviewer was very pleasant, she was logging my answers on to her computer, which created a bit of a continuity problem as I paused a lot to allow her time to finish typing. She then allowed me to ask some questions, so I probed a little about the job specifications. At this point I must tell you: please read the job description very carefully before applying! I saw a few keywords when I was reading the description, and was lulled into believing there was actual analysis and research. However, I realised very quickly that this wasn't a "typical" researcher position. It may be better if they relabelled the position to "Telephonic Researcher", because that is the entirety of what you will be doing (even the term "Researcher" would be a stretch). They don't expect you to analyse anything at all, your entire first year will be spent cold calling potential "experts". If you find an "expert" that is willing to play ball, you pass them on to your client - Call and Send, Call and Send, etc... You will do very little report writing and almost no data or (even) qualitative analysis. In their defence, they were fairly upfront about the role when I asked. Now, IF that is what you want to do, this would be the perfect place for you because it seems like quite a fun place to work. Also they pay very very decently for the type for work you'll be doing.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What was the transition from A-Levels to Uni like? Bizarre question, don't think it's relevant to ask that from someone who finished their A-Levels 7-8 years ago.

      Interview

Dont let them trick you into thinking this is an actual research position. You will be cold calling people most of your day. The interview process is relatively simple, first spoke with a recruiter who passed me onto an in-person round. I never heard from them after that.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Given this case industry, what types of industry experts would you contact on behalf of a client who is looking to invest in a company within that sector.

      Interview

Had an interview for Forum role in Hongkong. Straightforward interview. The recruiter was very pleasant and nice, she was very professional. Prepare for your understanding of the role, although she was very nice in explaining the role in details, you knew it’s a major concern if you have no idea about the position youre applying. She also provides transparent feedback which I really appreciates. Not all companies or recruiters do the same. I always see this recruiter in job fairs and she’s overall nice and very accommodating. I would recommend trying an interview as it will change your perspective about the company and the role.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Third Bridge in Aug 2024

      Interview

Firstly, HR called me, asked me basic questions and said there will be another interview with the Hiring Manager. The HR was really nice. Then I was mailed about the details about the interview and I was well prepared and excited about it. In the interview, the manager will ask you the most basic HR questions and won't even show any interest when you answer them and expect that you'd answer something extraordinary outside of your resume. I don't get it when the role doesn't align with the resume, why would you shortlist in the first place? Or have better questions to know the candidate. It was a time waste, I gave all the answers honestly I was well prepared for the questions they asked. Still they didn't take me without giving any feedback. I expected a lot more from this company honestly.
