      Research Analyst Interview

      Sep 10, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Third Bridge (London, England) in Aug 2015

      Interview

I was e-mailed to arrange a phone interview two days after I submitted my application. The phone interview took around 20 minutes. The interviewer asked pretty much the same question shared here. Firstly, I was asked to describe the transition from high school to university and how I found it. Then the competency questions followed (e.g. describe a time when you worked in a team, if you experienced any problems, and how you overcame these problems; tell me a time when you had to convince someone about something; what do you think are the challenges when you cold-call people?; what do you know about Cognolink?). I was informed two days after the phone interview that I was invited to a face-to-face interview. The second stage of the interview process was enjoyable for me. I felt that I was not having an interview but a talk with my friends. They asked several questions that were similar to those of the phone interview. The case study I had was pretty straightforward. Then, they moved on to give me examples of what type of projects I would be involving as a Research Analyst and they asked me what I would do in certain situations. One day after the face-to-face interview, I received an e-mail saying that they would not continue with the recruitment process. Although I did not receive an offer, the whole experience was very positive and the people whom I talked to were very friendly.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What would you do to triple the revenue of a firm that you are planning to purchase, having in mind that you have three years to accomplish that (I was given the role of a representative of a private equity firm)?

      Interview

Dont let them trick you into thinking this is an actual research position. You will be cold calling people most of your day. The interview process is relatively simple, first spoke with a recruiter who passed me onto an in-person round. I never heard from them after that.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Given this case industry, what types of industry experts would you contact on behalf of a client who is looking to invest in a company within that sector.

      Interview

Had an interview for Forum role in Hongkong. Straightforward interview. The recruiter was very pleasant and nice, she was very professional. Prepare for your understanding of the role, although she was very nice in explaining the role in details, you knew it’s a major concern if you have no idea about the position youre applying. She also provides transparent feedback which I really appreciates. Not all companies or recruiters do the same. I always see this recruiter in job fairs and she’s overall nice and very accommodating. I would recommend trying an interview as it will change your perspective about the company and the role.
