      Engineer Interview

      Mar 26, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Reno, NV
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Torchmate (Reno, NV)

      Interview

Formal sit down interview with HR person (Chelsea). Chelsea covered basic questions, why are you leaving current job?, what are your strengths and weaknesses?, ect . A week or so later a one on one interview with Engineering Manager (Jack). Interview with Jack was informal, he walked me around the manufacturing floor and talked about the company, asked about experiences relevant to different products we saw. He did a great job outlining what was to be expected in the job. After second interview took a few weeks as they were looking at other candidates before I was hired.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interview with Jack was tough at parts because he jumped around a bit as you walked. Know something about Torchmate and Vernon Tool products before you show up and it will help so you at least know what you are looking at.
