I interviewed for a training contract. I had two Interviews. The first was with one partner and the second was with two. First was more general competency and behavioural questions, the second interview was commercial based. Discussed private equity contract terms & conditions and business vehicles.
Lots of moral and ethical questions. The partners were very standoffish in the final interview and cut me off at the end from asking questions, which is a shame given the reputation of the firm being 'friendly and approachable'.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Travers Smith (London, England) in Oct 2022
Interview
Three stages to the process following the initial online application. First was a virtual interview, then two written assessments over a few weeks, and finally an in-person interview and an office tour.

Question 1
Why law? Why the firm? How would your friends describe you? Why does our international approach work/suggestions as to why it might not? Situational questions like what would you include in an X employment contract? What would you suggest to a shareholder who wants more of a say in a company? Do you think fast fashion should be more sustainable?

Interview
Extremely difficult interview with lots of moral questions and counter questions. Intimate one on one setting with a partner that didn’t write anything down. Felt like a conversation more than an interview but very challenging nonetheless.
