Similar to another post I, was contacted by a recruiter to set up a time to chat. Minutes before the call the recruiter needed to reschedule which happens I get it. Afterwards there was a request to reschedule another 2 times for just this initial call. After the initial call occurred I was told they’d continue forward with me. I was then reached out by another recruiter that set up a video call with me and the hiring manager. Minutes before the video call was to occur I get an email from the hiring manager apologizing that she'd need to reschedule. Again I understand things come up and a need to reschedule happens from time to time. What happens next is unacceptable however.
The rescheduled video call was set up by the recruiter that confirmed the hiring manager’s availability all through the same email string. I log into the video conference call line and stayed on the line the full 30 minutes waiting for this video call to occur which never happened. I reached out to all parties that set up the interview a couple times to see if there was a misunderstanding on the agreed time/day etc. however I never heard back. I've heard of recruiters standing people on initial calls but for a hiring manager conducting a video call to stand someone up is very unprofessional. It’s been some time now and no one ever reached back out to explain why this video call didn’t occur or even that “we wouldn’t be moving forward with you” etc. Just silence from TripleLift which is very strange behavior. These are video calls that required me to take off work to set up and be prepared and to never get a response why no one showed up from TripleLift’s end is very unprofessional.
Again things come up I understand that however be professional and keep people informed with as much time as possible and if you’re not planning to interview someone just let them know instead of never responding back it saves everyone time here.
