Hiring is based on previous academic merits and current skill set in computation biology. Skills must include competence in advanced statistics, genetics, and computer science. Step one was a phone interview. Second was a presentation of most recent projects. Offer letter was delivered after 2 weeks.

I applied online via email to a post at Nature Magazine online job board. Was contacted by the hiring manager for references. References were submitted. Shortly after was invited to interview 1 with the PI and lab manager. then I was invited to present at the lab meeting and answer questions. later it was followed up by interviews with the lab members. in total about 7 meetings. went very well.
